The island of Mykonos has been one of the most famous destinations in Greece since the 1950s, located in the heart of the Cyclades, is popularly known as the “island of the winds”. The island has acquired international acclaim as a cosmopolitan and luxurious holiday destination; hence Mykonos is a MUST in every travel bucket list.

Despite the island’s considerable guest development, it has preserved the Cycladic physiognomy and many of its traditional components in a unique way, featuring the iconic Cycladic architecture, with whitewashed dwellings and blue-domed churches. Its distinctive feature is the picturesque traditional windmills in the town and the Little Venice, consisting of colorful cafes and houses alongside the water, where guests may enjoy the romantic sunset and capture the sun light washing up the main town.

Chora, the capital of the island, proffers awarded restaurants, trendy stores, sophisticated pubs, and acclaimed clubs. During the day, the bright sunlight bathes the magnificent setting of the island, and at night, it assumes a guise of charm and mystery, inviting the guests to participate to its active nightlife. The islands cosmopolitan culture is encouraging each and every one to dance and enjoy the numerous beach bars, go on a shopping spree in the alleys of the Chora, visit the amazing art galleries and generally have the time of their life!

Furthermore, Mykonos is Greece’s most popular LGBTQ+ destination, with clubs and beach bars dedicated to this amazing community!

The island also boasts wonderful beaches for every taste, whether buzzy or isolated, pebbly or sandy, with emerald, azure, or deep blue waters. Some of the most popular include Scorpios, Super Paradise, Platis Gialos, and Lia. Most of the beaches in Mykonos are organized, with seaside restaurants and beach bars, one of the most beautiful non organized beaches in the island close to Chora is Agios Sostis beach ,a favorite for both locals and travellers.

The villages with stone-paved streets, whitewashed cottages, country churches, and windmills that exude serenity and tranquility are enough to convince everyone, of the two sides of this prominent island. Farming, horse riding, Kite surf, cooking classes, visits to museums like the Folklore and archaeological sites like the sacred island of Delos are only some of the experiences this majestic island offers.
